Fireflies vs Notta for Arabic meeting notes
Both list Arabic and record meetings with a bot that joins the call or from an uploaded file. Fireflies suits teams that want an assistant in every meeting, but its mode for mixed-language meetings is on Business and Enterprise plans only. Notta suits people who need transcription and translation between two languages, and documents a bilingual mode that covers Arabic with English. If what you need is Arabic minutes from a recording, Qarar is a third option, described at the end.
Disclosure: this article is published by the Qarar team, and Qarar is the third option it describes. It is based on each company’s own documentation and pages as we checked them on 16 October 2026, not on independent hands-on testing of Fireflies or Notta.
Arabic in each
Fireflies’ guide says “Fireflies supports transcription and summaries in 100+ languages, including regional variants.” Arabic is on its list. [1] Fireflies’ Multi-Language Mode, labelled Beta, “automatically detects and transcribes all spoken languages in the same meeting, even when speakers switch languages mid-sentence”. Its language table includes Arabic and English, and “This feature is available for Business and Enterprise plans only.” [2]
Fireflies’ guide says “The meeting summary is generated in the dominant language spoken during the meeting”, that changing only the summary language is “Not yet” supported, and that plain Auto-Detect “transcribes only the dominant language.” [3] In a meeting that is mostly Arabic with English terms, the summary language follows whichever dominated.
Notta lists Arabic among its monolingual transcription languages and among the languages available for bilingual transcription, where you can choose any two languages, Arabic and English included. [6] Notta documents bilingual transcription for real-time recording, for meetings joined by Notta Bot and for uploaded files. Its help page says “Bilingual translation is not currently supported” for uploads, and “Records uploaded via a link cannot be transcribed in bilingual mode.” The same page caps uploads at “1GB or 3 hours, whichever is smaller” for audio and “10GB or 3 hours, whichever is smaller” for video. [7]
Notta’s help center explains how to choose the AI Notes language and says to “select Follow transcript” if you want the summary in the transcript’s language. The page does not name Arabic. [8] So check for yourself that the notes come out in Arabic the way you want before relying on them.
Arabic appearing on a list does not by itself measure how well a particular dialect is understood, or tell you whether the transcript keeps the dialect or rewrites it into formal Arabic.
How each records, and what counts
Both work with a bot that joins the live meeting, and both accept uploaded files. Fireflies’ guide says storage “reflects the total minutes of meetings you can store—not per month.” Uploads and imports are limited to “3,000 mins/source/month” for individuals, with “Overage … charged at $0.01/min”, while there is “No rate limit for: Live meetings with the Fireflies Notetaker bot” or mobile app recordings. [5] If you rely on uploading recordings, plan for that limit; if the bot attends your meetings, it does not apply.
Choose the method that fits your team’s policy, and tell participants and get their consent before recording or uploading.
Prices and limits
Fireflies’ guide lists Pro at “$18 per user/month” billed monthly or “$10 per user/month (billed annually)”, and says “AI credits are not included in the base price.” Pro “Stores up to 8,000 minutes per seat” and records each meeting for up to 2 hours. [4]
Notta’s help center lists Pro at “$13.49 USD/month” on a monthly plan or “Total $97.99 USD ($8.17/month equivalent · billed annually)” for one seat, and notes that App Store and Google Play prices may differ from the web price. [9] Notta’s pricing page lists Pro with “1,800 transcription minutes/month”, “Up to 5 hours per recording”, “100 file uploads/month” and “100 AI Summary/month”. [10]
In practice, Fireflies Pro caps each meeting at two hours and counts storage as a running total rather than a monthly allowance, while Notta Pro caps minutes per month and allows recordings of up to five hours, though a file uploaded in bilingual mode is limited to three hours. Seats and add-ons can change the sum more than the base price does.
A third option: Qarar
Qarar is a meeting-notes tool for Arabic that starts from a recording: you upload a file or record in the browser, no bot joins the call, and an optional Mac recorder requires macOS 14.4 or later. The transcript keeps the dialect and English words as spoken, and the summary, decisions and action items are written in Modern Standard Arabic, with a timestamp that takes you back to the line each note came from. How Qarar works.
Qarar does not translate between languages or attend meetings itself; if you need either, Fireflies or Notta fits better. Starter is US$7.99 a seat a month billed yearly, or US$12 billed monthly, with 1,200 minutes a seat each month. Data is stored in eastern North America. See Qarar’s plans and prices and its data and privacy page.
How to choose
Try the tools you are weighing on the same recording, and make sure it has:
- More than one speaker, and sentences that move between Arabic and English if your team does that.
- A name, a number and a date whose correct form you know.
- A proposal that was not adopted, a decision that was, and a task with a named owner.
Then compare: were the names and numbers kept? Did the proposal turn into a decision by mistake? What language did the summary come out in? How much correction did it need? Choose Fireflies if you want an assistant that attends your team’s meetings, Notta if translating between two languages is central to your work, and Qarar if your goal is structured Arabic minutes from a recording.
